Issue

Following error is thrown when Weblogic bsu utility gets launched for applying patches:

Unable to locate any supported product installations. Click OK to locate a BEA Home with valid target installations

Commands Used:

cd /u01/oracle/VIS/fs1/FMW_Home/utils/bsu

./bsu.sh

Investigation Done

The issue comes probably because the bsu utility is unable to find the beahomelist.file.

Resolution

1. After the above error is thrown, the weblogic Utility will open a file browser to select a location. Simply select FMW_Home (which is the Middleware Top Directory). Upon selecting this the 'OK' button will get enabled.

2. Simply click on this 'OK' button and the utility will launch without any further errors. And subsequent to that you may apply the weblogic patches.
